HEVC Now is designed so you can test and play HEVC/H.265 videos with as little server involvement as practical. The main video tools run in your browser.
Local files stay local
When you choose a video from your device, the site opens it in your browser for playback, inspection, and conversion. The player and converter do not intentionally upload your local video file to HEVC Now servers.
Conversion runs in your browser
Fallback conversion is handled client-side in your browser using WebAssembly technology. Large files may use significant CPU, memory, and battery on your own device while conversion is running.
Direct video URLs are different
If you paste a direct video URL, your browser requests that video from the remote host. That remote host may receive normal request information such as your IP address, browser details, and request headers.

What this does not claim
No website safety statement can guarantee perfect security. You should only open media files from sources you trust, keep your browser updated, and use your normal device security protections.
